Visit to the burning factory in Bukit Selambau, Sungai Petani

YB Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah, Exco Industry and Investment, Higher Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, together with Mr. Noor Ikhsan bin Abd Aziz, Chief Operating Officer of Invest Kedah, visited the burned factory in Bukit Selambau, Sungai Petani.

When a fire broke out, Amanjaya Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was dispatched to the scene, along with BBP Sungai Petani, BBP Kulim Hi-Tech, and BBP Yan. According to a spokesperson for the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), an emergency call about the incident was received at approximately 7.57 p.m., and multiple machinery were deployed to the location for firefighting efforts.

However, the initial investigation revealed that the plant in issue included many warehouses believed to be utilized to process metal-related recycled materials. As a result, the state government is taking this situation seriously and will take preventative measures to ensure that it does not happen again.
