Invest Kedah Berhad, with YB Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah, Exco for Industry and Investment, Higher Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, held a meeting with the Kulim Industrial Tenants Association (KITA) at KISMEC Kulim. The KITA delegation was led by Mr. Chong Nee Hwa, the Vice President of KITA, and the Executive Director of Fuji Electric.
Invest Kedah Berhad was represented by Mr. Noor Ikhsan bin Abd Aziz, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Abdul Muti bin Abdul Hamid, General Manager Pre-Investment, and Mr. Mohamad Shaukhi bin Che Lah, General Manager Post-Investment.
The meeting session began with an introduction to KITA and the activities carried out by KITA, including community and CSR activities. They also took this opportunity to discuss issues that are of concern to ensure the smooth progress of planned developments.

Invest Kedah Berhad participated in the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2023, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
The main objective of IGEM this year was to bring together exhibitors showcasing groundbreaking ideas, innovations, and technologies that drive transformation in the industry. It also hosted a conference to encourage visionary thinking in the field of green technology. IGEM’s business matching sessions, which are always well-received, were also held to boost the green economy.
Furthermore, Invest Kedah Berhad utilized this opportunity to network with industry players and provide insights into investment opportunities in the state of Kedah.

Global lithium battery manufacturer, EVE Energy Co Ltd, has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new manufacturing facility with an initial investment of US$422 million (RM1.924 billion) in Kulim, Kedah.
This facility will be EVE’s 53rd manufacturing plant and will lead the development of the International Cylindrical Battery Industrial Park in Malaysia. The plant will primarily focus on producing cylindrical lithium-ion batteries for power equipment and electric two-wheeled vehicles. Furthermore, this project has the potential to create 600 new high-quality job opportunities, contributing to the local economy and job sector.
This project is in line with the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) and the National Automotive Policy 2020 (NAP) towards achieving zero-emission clean greenhouse gases by 2050. Today’s groundbreaking ceremony not only benefits EVE but also paves the way for more companies to invest in Malaysia’s electric vehicle (EV) industry and its ecosystem.
The groundbreaking ceremony today was attended by YB Dato’ Wira Dr. Ku Abd Rahman bin Ku Ismail, Senior Member of the Kedah State Government Council (Chairman of the Industry & Investment, Higher Education, and Science, Technology & Innovation Committee of Kedah Darul Aman), Lim Bee Vian, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment Development) of MIDA, Dr. Haji Nadzman bin Mustaffa, Chairman of Kulim Municipal Council, Mr. Noor Ikhsan bin Abd Aziz, Chief Operating Officer of Invest Kedah Berhad, and senior management of EVE Energy.
Last May, an official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony took place between EVE Energy Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (EVE) and Kelang Lama Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur.
